THE RIDGEBACK HOMEOWNER GUIDE
Plan the project.
Skip the guesswork.
A practical guide to requesting fireplace, home comfort, smart-home, and handyman help near Tigard. You don’t need a diagnosis or a perfect plan to get started.
01 / START SIMPLE
What makes a useful request?
Tell us the result you want, what you already have, and where the work is needed. A few clear details help us understand the project before discussing a visit. Check off the items you have ready.
Use this as a guide. You can contact us before every item is checked.
Photos can be emailed to RidgebackHomeSolutions@gmail.com. Include your name and a short description so we can connect them to your request. Don’t send account passwords or payment information.
02 / MAKE IT SPECIFIC
The details that help most.
Choose the service closest to your project. If the work spans several services, include the whole list in one request.
Fireplace service+
Tell us whether the concern is lighting, operation, cleaning, maintenance, or a gas-log project. Share the brand and model if readily available, and describe what happens when you use the normal controls.
A full fireplace photo helps show the setup. A model-label photo can help identify equipment, but you don’t need to remove a panel or take anything apart for a request.

Describe your system type if you know it, the rooms affected, and when you notice the problem. Mention unusual sounds or a displayed error message in your own words.
For a thermostat project, include the new model and your current system or thermostat. Compatibility and scope need to be discussed before an installation is confirmed.

Share the device model, how many devices you have, where you want them installed, and whether they use a battery or existing wiring. Photos of the proposed mounting location are useful.
Tell us whether you already own the device. Device costs and manufacturer subscriptions are separate considerations. Keep your Wi-Fi and app credentials private; you may need them yourself during setup.

List the tasks, any dimensions you know, and the products or materials you already have. For mounting work, include the wall or surface type if known and a photo of the location.
If there are several jobs, tell us which one matters most. We’ll review the items together and confirm what we can take on. A single request helps keep the conversation organized; it does not imply a package price.

A clear scope comes before scheduling.
Work, equipment, parts, materials, access, and the number of tasks can all affect a project’s price. Be clear about what is already purchased and what still needs to be supplied.
- Which tasks are included in the proposed work?
- What materials or products are needed, and who will supply them?
- What pricing applies to the agreed scope?
- What availability works for the project?
Ridgeback discusses scope and pricing before scheduling. The online form collects no payment and does not confirm an appointment. If you’re still exploring options, say so in the request.
